GOLD ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL DATEJUST WATCH

GOLD ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL DATEJUST WATCH

Many people believe that when they suffer a theft, the police will show up at their home, take fingerprints and interview potential perpetrators.  They think that the case will remain open until an investigator solves the crime. Sadly, this only happens on television.  Law enforcement worldwide is underfunded and understaffed, and no one is going to solve your home burglary.

This watch was stolen along with many other items of personal and sentimental jewelry from a Notting Hill, UK, home in 2018.  Only two people had been in the property at the time, a substitute house cleaner and the landlord’s contractor.  Fingerprints taken in the bedroom could have solved the crime, but the police just didn’t have time to even interview the possible perpetrators.  Even worse, when the above watch was brought into a London pawnbroker in 2021, we were given the name of the individual who could have identified the thief amongst the two suspects.  The police were initially interested and then never got around to following our leads.

The solution to home burglaries?  Insurance.  Have a proper home contents policy and don’t forget to update your schedules from year to year.  Art, jewelry, and fine watches often increase in value over time and you need to be sure that you are adequately covered in the event of a loss.

The victims got this watch back thanks to us but had already replaced it with another. It was sold on behalf of Underwriters who paid out on the claim.
